The sill is the main structural component of a timber window—and one of the first parts to show signs of damage. Without regular maintenance, or often due to a guttering failure, the sill can become damp and begin to rot, which can seriously compromise the entire integrity of the window.
In many cases, it’s just the exposed outer section that’s affected, and although it may look alarming, it’s often not as bad as it seems to the untrained eye.
